6 years of AG: no athlete reaches the world stage alone

This post is a reflection from the AG fellow of the year, Oluwatomisin Eludipo, a professional soccer player with a masters in Business Management and Analytics . She is serving as the 2026 business and comms fellow for AG.
One of the things I appreciate most in life and work is listening and getting feedback.
Recently, while editing some client testimonial videos for Afangideh Global's sixth anniversary, I found myself doing more than just putting clips together. I was actually listening to what people were saying about their experience. Hearing leaders from different backgrounds describe how AG helped them move their vision forward made me pause and reflect.
As someone who plays soccer, I couldn't help but connect those stories to what I've been watching at the World Cup. When people watch football, they see the goals, the celebrations, and the moments that make history. What they don't always see are the coaches giving instructions from the touchline, the analysts studying every opponent, the medical staff keeping players fit, or the teammates constantly communicating throughout the game. Even the greatest players in the world still receive coaching.
No athlete reaches the World Cup alone.
That realization made me think differently about the work we do at AG. Sometimes people assume hiring a consultant or coach means you don't have the answers. But in sports, the opposite is true. The very best players in the world actively seek guidance because they understand that talent alone isn't enough. The right support helps you see blind spots, make better decisions, and perform at your highest level
Listening to our clients' stories reinforced that idea.
One client shared how AG walked alongside them through their first multi-million-dollar fundraising journey, providing the development strategic guidance they did not yet have.
Another spoke about turning what started as a small idea into a fully formed nonprofit in just a matter of weeks. Someone else described the accountability that kept them moving when big goals could have easily stalled.
As an athlete, those stories sound familiar.
They're not just stories about business. They're stories about support.
They're stories about having someone who sees what you can't see, asks the difficult questions, and keeps you focused when distractions can easily pull you off course.
Building an organization isn't easy, just like competing at a high level in sport isn't easy. But neither path is meant to be done alone.
As AG celebrates six years, one thing stands out to me more than anything else: the people who achieve remarkable things are rarely the people who try to do everything themselves.
They build teams.
They seek guidance.
They remain coachable.
So congratulations to AG on six years of serving visionaries around the world, and thank you to every client who has trusted the team to be part of their journey.
